Spend a full day exploring Doi Inthanon National Park, home to Thailand's highest mountain and one of Northern Thailand's most beautiful natural landscapes.

Travel from Chiang Mai into the mountains to visit the summit at 2,565 metres above sea level, walk through the cool cloud forest of Ang Ka Nature Trail, and admire the Twin Royal Pagodas surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.

The journey continues with a visit to a local Hmong market before heading to Ban Mae Klang Luang, a Karen village known for its rice terraces, locally grown coffee, and traditional way of life. Accompanied by a local Karen guide, enjoy a gentle trek through the forest, passing streams and a small waterfall before returning to the village.

Before heading back to Chiang Mai, stop at Wachirathan Waterfall, one of the park's most impressive waterfalls.

Doi Inthanon Summit

* Temperatures at the summit are significantly cooler than Chiang Mai city. So a long sleeves shirt or jacket is good to be brought along during the trip
* Rice terraces at Ban Mae Klang Luang are seasonal and are at their greenest during the rainy season.
