3 day 2 Nights Trek
Muang Kong (Chiang Dao) Area

                  This is a newly explored route for those who would like to experience dense jungle, fresh air and real nature in a wild animal conservation area ( Chiang Dao ) , The trek concludes with activity along the Mae Tang River in Huay Nam Dung National Park Area, which is well known for it's beautiful native flora & herbs. The trek will include elephant ride and bamboo rafting.

                    A meeting with the trek group and guide will be arranged in the evening ( 6 PM ) of the day before the trek, to provide explanation of the program, preparation, do's and don'ts in the village, and questions for the tour guide.

 

 

Program

Day 1 : Chiang Mai - Cave - Muang Kong - Lisu Hilltribe Village

08h30

Leave from your hotel by local truck to the North of Chiang Mai
Stop at local Mae Ma Lai market. Get in touch with the local people and enjoy buying food and ingredients with the guide.

09h30 Continue around 35 kms. Drive to visit the biggest cave in Chiang Mai at Chiang Dao Cave, see the beautiful stalactites, stalagmites and the reclining Buddha image, that has an interesting history
11h30 Take the truck up to Doi Chiang Dao ( the 3 highest peak in Thailand, 2,225 Meters. ) passing through beautiful mountain scenery and hilltribe villages. Lunch will be provided on the way. Then continue to Karen village at Baan Muang Kong
14h30 Start trek though the jungle for 1 1/2 hours to Lisu village at Baan Huay Din Dam.
16h00 Arrive at the village. Welcome by the village, leave your gear at the Bamboo Hut ( Dormitory room for the group) & relax. Walk around to see the village. Play and talk with the children or prepare food with the guide.
19h00 Candle light Dinner with the group ( no electricity ! ) . After dinner, have friendly chat with tour guide to leam something of hilltribe culture and history.
Day 2 : Lisu hilltribe village - Elephent ride - Karen hilltribe village.
08h00 First, breakfast with nature.
09h00 Prepare for a challenging trek for 4-5 hours, up and down hill. It will be a memorable trek under the shade of the green trees, and through marvelous wild orchids, flora and herbs.
13h00 Lunch, jungle style, will be provided by the guide and his assistant during the trek. At the end of the trek, we reach the elephant camp. Achance to rest and relax.
15h00 Experience Jumbo (Not Jet) ride for 1 1/2 hours through the jungle. As you ride the elephant, you will understand how gentle and beautiful these creatures are. We ride the elephants to the Karen hilltribe village, Baan Pang Kao Lam for our second night stop.

Arrive at the village. Organize your gear in the wooden Hut (Dormitory room for the group) then free time.

  • Swimming in the river, fishing, exploring the village, playing football with children or preparing dinner with guide are all possible.
19h00 Dinner will be provided. Enjoy talking, exchanging ideas, games , stories, music or questions with the guide and group.
Sweet dreams after a hard day.
Day 3 : Karen hilltribe village - Bamboo Rafting - Chiangmai.
08h00 Early morning breakfast at village.
09h00 say goodbye to the Karen as we take their superb transport, "Bamboo Raft" along the way, experience the peaceful tranquility of the river, broken only by the sound of birds and trekkers singing!!.
11h00 At Lahu village, recheck your raft before keep going on to more excitement, passing rocks and rapids for 2 hours till we reach the Shan village.
13h00 Lunch at Shan local Restaurant. (included in cost)
14h30 Transfer back to Chiang Mai by local truck.

Say "Good bye" to your group and guide before returning to your nice and comfortable room at your hotel.
