 Day 1 : Doi Chiang Dao is a limestone mountain reaches to 2,190 meters above the sea level, situates about 70 kilometers upper north of Chiangmai. With its special habitat you can find many sub-alpinevegetation and some endemic plants. Birds are recorded up to 300 species both resident and migrant.
Onec the endemic Deignan's Babbler was found here. Doi chiang Dao still attracts birders around the world. The pine forest covers the major part of the park so we can find quite easily the Giant Nuthach and Mrs.' Hume Pheasant. |

Birdwatching can be done around the park headquarter or Den Ya Khad. You can see these birds; Giant Nuthatch, Mrs.' Hume Pheasant, Red-whiskered Bulbul, Sooty-headed Bulbul, Striped-throated Bulbul, Violet cuckoo, Thick-billed Pigeon, Pin-tailed Pigeon, Geart Barbet, Crested Treeswift, Black-crested Bulbul, Yellow-eyed Warbler and so on. Lunch and snack will be provided. On the way back to hotel and if time permits you can continue birding at Wat Tham Pa plong. The temple area is next to Chiang Dao Cave. Many birds can be seen here such as Sultan Tit, Asian Fairly Bluebird, Lesser-necklaced Laughingthrush, Ashy Drongo, Black Drongo, Lesser Yellownape and so on. continue to resort at Angkhang.

 Day 2 : Doi Angkhang
Situated in the heart of "Golden Triangle", perched on the Burmese border, the massive of Doi Angkhang is an exciting birding site in spite of the intensive and continuing deforestation. The remaining cover is mainly restricted to the steepest rocky ridges where the maximum elevation attains 1,800 meters
Birding here is generally easy, with a fantastic variety of species. Most of the specialties can be seen in three or four days, anda large proportion is just one day. This birding location is a worthwhile stop on even the shortest of trips. Specialties include |
