08.30 am You will be picked up and transported to your starting point. From here on, it's cycling all the way. Cycle to the outskirts of town to visit Wieng KumKam, the ancient, previous capital of the North before Chiangmai was established. Being so, it was the residence of the Northern Royal Family and nobility. Pass tall, shady gum trees on the way.Visit Wat Chedi Liam, a square built structure, surrounded by small niches containing Buddha images. Learn about the history of Wieng KumKam ( this ancient capital) at Wat That Kao and Wat Phrajao Ong Dam. Explore the well-preserved temple of Wat Kan Tom. Two temples which are recent discoveries and are still under excavation are Wat Pu Pia with it's glorious architecture and Wat E-kang. As Wieng KumKam is located in a pleasant spot amongst the local community, you will be able to really see how the locals live their daily lives. Clear you mind and try meditation in a temple among calm and peaceful surroundings.
